PpSignal Renko + ADX — APPROXIMATE models

Buying and holding the index over the same bars: -3,164.1 points
These are NOT PpSignal results. The indicator is published closed-source ("This script is published as closed-source"), its input values are encrypted in the TradingView page, and no signal export exists in this project. Everything on this page comes from substitute models built from the author's written description, which says: "Work with atr Average true range. Buy when the Renko is lime end sell when the Renko is red" and warns that the colour "can repaint up to the close price of the current candle".
The only path to a real result is an exported signal file: src/ppsignal_backtest.py --provider csv --signal-csv signals.csv. The engine is unchanged by that swap — only the signal source changes.
How this was measured
- Source:
data/fyers/index/NIFTY50_1m.csv, resampled to 15-minute bars (09:15-15:30, 25 bars/day). This is all the intraday NIFTY history on disk. - Signal on bar t's close, fill at bar t+1's open. No look-ahead; Renko/ATR state is causal. The real indicator repaints intrabar, so only close-confirmed colours are used.
- ADX =
ta.dmi(12,12) > 25; the "12 minutes" remark is read as a 12-period DMI, which is configurable. - Stops are gap-aware: an open through the stop fills at the open, not the stop.
- End-of-day exit is mandatory and flat overnight by default.
- Commission 0.03% per side, 2 ticks slippage. No shorting.
Inputs: the index candles are real market data - data/fyers/index/NIFTY50_1m.csv, the intraday NIFTY index candles these runs use. Only the traded instrument is synthetic: index points, not an option premium, so these numbers carry no premium, theta, IV or expiry.
What "360000 / 108 points" could be
ATR(14) on the same 15-minute bars has a median of 39.8 points, so 2.5 x ATR(14) = 99.4 points. The fixed Renko box below is set to the author's claimed 108 for comparison; 99 is not 108, and the multiplier itself lives inside the protected source and is not verified.

How to read the columns above
A trade is one that finished: it entered and it exited. "Trades that won" counts the finished trades that ended in profit after commission and slippage, which is the same money as the "net points" column. "Biggest drop" is the deepest fall from the running peak of the money curve, in the same points as the net column and after the same costs. It is a size, not a percentage.
